A classic album of chants and goddess-inspired songs by the Gaia Choir. The chants, songs and tonings in Womansong have been used in circles, rituals, gatherings and healing women’s work all over the world.
Womansong was recorded in live to digital in September 1992 near Byron Bay, Australia. Nineteen woman created a sacred space, setting up an altar with flowers, crystals in the centre of the large circle. After toning and opening the circle they set their intention of aligning their hearts and mouths to sing as one. By the end of the day the group were dancing naked around the room freely vocalising the joy of their creation.
Womansong captures that unique energy as the Gaia Choir expressed their love of life and the goddess through their song. The tracks include classics like ‘We all come from the goddess’, Witches and the choir’s version of Charlie Murphy’s powerful song about the witch trials, Burning Times
